Below is our recommendations for cleaners, and tips for cleaning too:
For Natural Stone Showers:
Kit: Soap Film Remover, Mildew Remover, & Natural Stone cleaner (mb-5):
Instructions for regular weekly cleaning: Walls (from floor to about chest-level) and floors should be sprayed with the soap film remover, and scrubbed with a non-abrasive brush. Then rinse off with hot water. Natural stone cleaner can be used in areas without soap residue. Any pinkish or blackish mildew areas should be sprayed with the mildew remover, scrubbed, and rinsed. (For stubborn areas, let the product dwell).
Natural Stone, Marble and Granite Cleaning Tips:
A simple what-not-to use on or around natural stone includes vinegar, most window cleaners, toilet bowl cleaner, Lysol, lysol sprays, disinfectants, Mr. Clean, Awesome, Ajax, Mop-n-Glow, Murphy’s Oil soap, to name a few.
Do not use any cleaner that is for general household purposes, or that has the word “polish” on the bottle. Any product should clearly say on it that it is pH neutral.
We recommend using a powered toilet bowl cleaner, like Comet, instead of the traditional blue stuff, but still be careful.
For Countertop and Floor cleaners (you have three choices: ready-to-use, concentrated, or EPA-certified green:
Natural stone cleaner, spray cleaner:
Natural Stone Cleaner for Floors, concentrated:
Instructions for regular cleaning: Floors should be dusted regularly, but not vacuumed, as that can easily scratch the floor. The best type of “mop” to use is a rectangular, flat, soft micro-fiber you can buy at Home Depot/Lowes. After dusting, spray the daily cleaner on the floor. Then using a new clean micro fiber, mop it dry.
